Weekend College Online Course Component

Weekend College courses are hybrid courses.

  1. Students attend 6 face-to-face meetings at West and
  2. Students spend about 4-5 hours online per week.

Students need regular access to the Internet to do their online class work.

All courses take place online using the ETUDES-NG course management system.  Each week there are four hours of required online work as well as on-campus meetings on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, depending on the course.

Technical Requirements

The online component of Weekend College courses use ETUDES-NG.  ETUDES-NG works on any computer (PC or Mac), however, students may need to make minor adjustments to ensure that the online course works properly on your computer.

Please carefully review the ETUDES-NG technical requirements before your course begins.

Click here for the technical requirements of the ETUDES-NG system.

If I don't have a computer, will I still be able to take a Weekend College class?

Yes.  To complete the online component of Weekend College classes, students can use the WLAC computer lab in the library (HLRC).  The Library Internet Computer Lab (LIRL) is located on the 2nd floor of the HLRC.  Students have free access to computers, the Internet, and research databases.  Students should bring their West student ID card and a USB drive to back up their work.

For more information and current hours of operation, visit the West Library website or call (310) 287-4408.

In addition, students can use the free public access Internet and computer workstations at the Culver City Julian Dixon Library at 4975 Overland Avenue, just 1/2 a mile from the West campus.
